Kesha’s next album is coming our way in a few months, and she picked the perfect song to tease its release. The music video for the gospel-inspired track “Raising Hell” is here, and it could put the best soap opera to shame.

Luke Gilford directed the video which shows Kesha taking on the role of a popular televangelist, who’s secretly dealing with an abusive husband who’s envious of her success. In an unexpected turn of events, she ends up escaping her former life after her husband’s life comes to a tragic end.

“Raising Hell” is the lead single from her upcoming studio album High Road, set to be released on January 10th, 2020. Kesha told Entertainment Weekly that making new music helped her find joy and reclaim her own voice.

“If you keep on pushing through the darkness, you’ll find a rainbow, and I feel like I finally arrived there. I want that to be inspiration to other people – by embracing the vulnerable side of myself, but also the strong, and the person that wants to lead a joyful, happy, and free life.”
