During his long and successful career in Hollywood, Kevin Bacon has made his fair share of iconic movies and blockbuster hits. But 1990’s western monster action film Tremors is the only one he still wants to re-visit in some shape or form.

Tremors tells the story of a small place in Nevada that suddenly gets invaded by human-eating giant worms. Bacon plays Valentine McKee, a repairman who becomes the unlikely hero in the town’s fight for survival.

Bacon recently did a lengthy interview with Esquire magazine and shared several interesting things about his attempts to re-visit Tremors. “It was one film of mine that I wanted to revisit that character,” he said, adding that it’s the only movie he made that he watched multiple times.

Despite weak box-office performance at the time, Tremors quickly found a loyal audience on home video. This led to several low-budget sequels and a prequel, all of which were released in the direct-to-video format.

Bacon told Esquire that he was offered to make a direct-to-video sequel several years ago but declined the opportunity. Then on the 25th anniversary, an idea about making a television series was floated around. Bacon was all-in on the project and even got around to make a trailer. Unfortunately, the Tremors series was scrapped before even making it to television.

But despite the failures, Bacon hasn’t given up. According to the 62-year-old actor, he will keep trying to make something happen and jokingly said that maybe 30th or 35th anniversary could change things.

“I would still love to do it, believe me,” he concluded.
