The season of brand-new horror movies is upon us, and Totally Killer will change the way you look at this genre. The promising horror comedy with a time-traveling twist is coming our way this fall, and Amazon just dropped the first trailer starring Kiernan Shipka.

The trailer opens with Shipka’s character approaching a pair of cops, telling them she’s trying to solve a pretty unconventional murder mystery.

“I’d like to report a crime that hasn’t happened yet. Have you seen the movie Back to the Future? Basically, I’m living that movie right now, which is how I know there’s going to be a murder tonight,” she explains.

As the trailer progresses, we quickly learn that Shipka’s character traveled back in time from the present day to 1987, where she must stop her would-be-mother from being murdered by the Sweet Sixteen Killer on Halloween.

In addition to Shipka, the film also stars Olivia Holt, Julie Bowen, Charlie Gillespie, Liana Liberato, Lochlyn Munro, and Randall Park. It was directed by Nahnatchka Khan, who made her feature directorial debut with the acclaimed rom-com Always Be My Maybe.

Totally Killer was filmed in Vancouver, Canada and it will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 6.
