Netflix’s fantasy drama The Witcher starring Henry Cavill is adding a new face to Season 2, Killing Eve’s Kim Bodnia.

The Witcher, Netflix’s biggest new show, tells the story of three individuals whose destinies are connected in the world of The Continent where humans, witches, elves, gnomes, and monsters battle each other to live and the distinction between good and evil is hard to separate.

Bodnia will play Vesemir, a charming relic of the witcher Golden Age and the most experienced and oldest Witcher in the show, who will be a father figure for Geralt (Cavill).

EP and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said, “I am so thrilled to welcome Kim Bodnia to the cast of The Witcher. I have admired his unique talents in shows like Killing Eve and The Bridge, and cannot wait for him to bring strength, tenacity, and warmth to the character of Vesemir, who is such an integral part of our upcoming season.”

Returning for Season 2 with Cavill are Anya Chalotra as the sorceress Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri, and Joey Batey as Jaskier.
