To say that many people did not like the ending of Game of Thrones would be an understatement. The petition for HBO to reshoot it is still gathering signatures and reached more than 1.5 million people by now. But many of the series’ actors have defended the ending and are still doing so and no one more vigorously than Kit Harington.

Harington, who played one of the main characters of the show, Jon Snow, has recently said to The Hollywood Reporter that the ending of the show was so good that it made him cry from happiness.

The end of the show sees Jon stabbing his beloved aunt turned mad queen, Daenerys, to death and being sent to the wall, ending up going north with his wildling friends. According to Harington “It felt like (Jon) was set free. It was a really sweet ending. As much as he had done a horrible thing, as much as he had felt that pain, the actual ending for him was finally being released.”

Harington has also revealed in the interview that the scene of him stabbing Daenerys, played by Emilia Clarke was one of the most difficult scenes they have filmed due to it being highly charged and emotionally powerful shoot. According to him, the shooting took over three weeks, though the scene does not have a lot of dialog.
