“Knives Out 2” Casts Dave Bautista

Dave Bautista has been cast in the sequel to Knives Out.

Bautista joins Daniel Craig, who plays Detective Benoit Blanc. Plot details have been kept under wraps, but the sequel is expected to have other A-list celebrities. It’s yet to be said if the stars from the original will be returning.

Bautista and Craig previously appeared together in the 2015 James Bond film Spectre. Bautista is known for playing Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and he’s teaming with Netflix on Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead. Other upcoming film roles include Denis Villeneuve’s Dune remake, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Thor: Love and Thunder.

Netflix bought the rights to Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3 for $468 million. Rian Johnson is returning to direct the sequel which will be starting production this summer.

The first film was produced by Media Rights Capital and was distributed by Lionsgate. Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Toni Collette, and Ana de Armas, and centers around a wealthy family and takes places after patriarch and author Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) dies on his 85th birthday.

Knives Out was a huge hit earning more than $300 million globally.
