Love Lies Bleeding is one of the most exciting new films premiering at Sundance this winter, and A24 finally gave us a taste of things to come. The first trailer for this romantic thriller just hit the shelves, and it stars Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brian in lead roles.
Love Lies Bleeding is set in the competitive world of bodybuilding, and it centers on ambitious bodybuilder Jackie (O’Brian), who finds herself entangled in a relationship with a reclusive gym manager Lou (Stewart).
Jackie heads to Las Vegas to pursue her dream with Lou by her side, but their love ignites violence after they find themselves sinking deeper and deeper into the web of Lou’s criminal family.
In addition to the leading duo, the star-studded ensemble of A24’s next film also includes Jena Malone, Anna Baryshnikov, Dave Franco, and Ed Harris. Rose Glass was in charge of directing this film, based on a script she co-wrote with Weronika Tofilska.
Love Lies Bleeding will have its world premiere at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, as a part of its Midnight section, along with Caroline Lindy’s Your Monster and Jane Schoenbrun’s I Saw the TV Glow. Its theatrical release has been set for March 8, 2024.
