Orphan Black has a new sestra.

Tatiana Maslany rose to fame in the sci-fi thriller in which she played practically the entire cast of clones. When the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law actress won her Primetime Emmy in 2016 it was for starring as no fewer than five characters.

Maslany starred as Sarah Manning, a British con woman who discovers that she is one of several illegally-created clones situated throughout North America and Europe and that someone is trying to kill them. Together with her “sisters” (all played by Maslany) they attempt to figure out who created them and why.

Although Orphan Black came to an end in 2017, it was announced three years ago that another show set in the same universe was in development. Orphan Black: Echoes was given the green light for 10 episodes in April and it has now been announced that Krysten Ritter will fill the lead role.

The Jessica Jones star will play Lucy, who has been described as “as a woman with an unimaginable origin story, trying to find her place in the world.” Ritter will also serve as executive producer.

Orphan Black: Echoes will premiere on AMC and AMC Plus in 2023.
