Another Ghostbusters movie is on the way, and two acclaimed comedy actors just joined its star-studded cast. The untitled sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife is on the way, and it will star Kumail Nanjiani and Patton Oswalt.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife was released in 2021 as the latest installment in the iconic franchise, and its success granted a follow-up. Not much is known about the sequel at the moment, but it’s expected to return to New York City and the firehouse setting of the original movies.

Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon will reprise their roles from Ghostbusters: Afterlife, with Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, and Ernie Hudson also returning. No news yet if the sequel will feature other stars of the original franchise, including Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.

In addition to Kumail Nanjiani and Patton Oswalt, James Acaster and Emily Alyn Lind also joined this exciting sequel. Gil Kenan is coming on board as a director, while Jason Reitman will serve as producer and co-writer alongside Kenan and Jason Blumenfeld.

Eternals star Nanjiani has been pretty busy throughout 2022 and he received acclaim for the lead role in the true crime mini-series Welcome to Chippendales. As for Oswalt, his most recent credits include Netflix’s The Sandman and sports comedy 80 for Brady.
