Lady Gaga’s casting as Harley Quinn ruffled some feathers, and we finally know what her version of the iconic character will look like. A Star is Born actress is currently busy filming Joker: Folie à Deux, and she was captured in character as Harley Quinn in the first on-set photos.
The first behind-the-scenes photos show Gaga wearing a red tuxedo jacket, a black and white corset, a black leather mini skirt, and stockings with a diamond pattern. She’s surrounded by police while stepping down from a courthouse, with minimal clown makeup on her face.
Lady Gaga’s casting in the new film left some people puzzled because they associate this comic book heroine with Margot Robbie, but the Australian actress said she’s happy to pass this great character to another great actress.
“It’s such an honor to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters that other actors get to have a go at playing, and I think she’ll do something incredible with it,” she told MTV News.
Joker: Folie à Deux serves as the sequel to the hit 2019 film directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck aka Joker. They’re both returning for the sequel, with Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey in supporting roles.
