The CMT Music Awards are one of the leading award shows on the country music scene, and the list of nominees is finally in. Lainey Wilson is leading the way with a total of four nominations, and she’s closely followed by Cody Johnson, Kane Brown, and Jelly Roll.
Wilson made quite a splash with the last year’s album Bell Bottom Country and received a nod for female video of the year for its lead single “Heart Like a Truck”.
She owes the rest of her nominations to her hit collaborations, including “wait in the truck” ft. HARDY (video of the year, collaborative video of the year) and “Never Say Never” ft. Cole Swindell (CMT performance of the year).
The video of the year field is pretty crowded and includes a total of 16 nominees, including Blake Shelton’s “No Body”, Carrie Underwood’s “Hate My Heart”, Keith Urban’s “Wild Hearts”, Kelsea Ballerini’s “HEARTFIRST”, Morgan Wallen’s “You Proof”, and Luke Combs’ “The Kind of Love We Make”.
Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, and Kane Brown are among the most-nominated artists with three nods, and Brown will hit the stage even if he doesn’t win. He’s co-hosting the ceremony alongside Kelsea Ballerini on April 2 at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
