The group has announced that is has parted ways with its co-founder and drummer.

Lamb of God released a statement Thursday confirming that Chris Adler has left the band.

“We returned last week from a great European festival run and our final tour with Slayer in North America. We are excited to keep the momentum going and dive into the next record,” they shared via their official social media account. “We’d like to officially welcome Art Cruz, who has been playing drums with us on tour for the last year, as the new drummer of Lamb of God. Art will be joining us in the studio as we begin pre-production and recording of a new album.”

Adler was involved in a motorcycle accident back in 2018, which led him to sit out the band’s live shows. Back in September, he shared on Instagram: “I experienced some issues related to the injuries that needed to be addressed with a rigorous schedule of physical and occupational therapy which is what I have been doing regularly since July.”

Adler had been in Lamb of God since 1999.
