Don’t expect to see Lana Del Rey posting on Instagram or Twitter for the foreseeable future. The “Summertime Sadness” singer announced over the weekend that she is taking a break from social media.

Del Rey revealed the news via a short clip in which she also detailed the reasons for her decision. According to the Grammy Award-winningsinger, she has taken this step because she has “many other interest and other jobs” she is doing at the moment that “require privacy and transparency.”

She added that she will continue the work on her previously announced projects, including her poetry book and spoken word album, while also “going on some different endeavors.”

In the video, Del Rey revealed some info about Blue Banisters, her upcoming album that is scheduled to drop on October 22nd. The record is apparently a “compilation of older songs and some new songs,” while also containing tracks that were written by some of the singer’s family and friends.

“For right now, I think I’m going to just keep my circle a little bit closer,” she said towards the end of the video.

While the original clip disappeared after Del Rey made good on her announcement and deactivated her social media accounts, some fans managed to grab it before that and post it on YouTube. Check it out below.

Earlier last week, Del Rey shared the first single from Blue Banisters. The song is titled “ARCADIA” and was done in collaboration with producer/songwriter Drew Erickson.
