Lana Del Rey broke the internet this summer when she was spotted working at a Waffle House, leaving her fans both puzzled and amused. After countless theories about these viral photos, the “Summertime Singer” finally decided to reveal what really happened.

Back in July, Del Rey was photographed wearing a Waffle House uniform in Florence, Alabama, sparking many fan theories along the way. People have wondered if she’s filming a music video or a commercial, while others assumed she’s making a career change, but she finally spilled the tea and revealed what really went down.

Del Rey visited the Waffle House in the viral photos with her brother and sister, and the server asked them if they wanted shirts with their name tags. They were thrilled by the offer, and the singer even agreed to serve one customer who always orders the same drink.

Del Rey admitted she was overwhelmed by the attention that the photos received, and said she wished people paid as much attention to her music.

“I wish my album had gone as viral. I woke up to, like, 10,000 texts the next morning – some from folks I had not heard from for 10 years. ‘Saw your picture at the Waffle House!’ I was like, ‘Did you hear the new album?’” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Del Rey’s latest album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd came out back in March and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, with her biggest opening week sales since 2015’s Honeymoon.
