Lana Del Rey is no stranger to toying with different genres, and she’s getting ready to explore uncharted territory with her new music. She recently dropped hints about her upcoming country album Lasso, set to hit the shelves this September.

Del Rey hit the stage at Billboard’s pre-Grammy event in Los Angeles to honor her frequent collaborator, Jack Antonoff. She also said they’ve been working on some new music, and revealed it will be unlike anything she shared with us before.

“If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We’re going country. It’s happening. That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years,” she told the audience.

Just a few days before attending Billboard’s event, Del Rey dropped hints about new music on social media. She said she’s been working on something exciting with Antonoff and Luke Laird, and we now know she’s been getting ready to explore a brand-new genre.

Del Rey’s last album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd hit the shelves last year, and it’s been nominated for album of the year at the Grammy Awards.
