The Grammy Award-winning singer Tony Bennett won’t perform live concerts anymore. The news comes days after Bennett canceled all of his fall tour dates.

Reports of Bennett’s decision to retire from performing were confirmed to Variety by his son and manager Danny Bennett.

“There won’t be any additional concerts,” said Danny Bennett in a statement. “This was a hard decision for us to make, as he is a capable performer. This is, however, doctors’ orders,” he added, alluding to the fact that Bennett was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a while back.

Bennett had his last live shows in early August, performing two concerts with Lady Gaga, billed as “One Last Time,” at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall. The pair will also release a new album, which is expected to be Bennett’s last, in October under the title Love for Sale. The record, follow up to 2014’s Cheek to Cheek, will be composed out of songs written by iconic American composer Cole Porter.

Over the course of his storied career, Tony Bennett released more than a hundred albums, counting the studio releases, live records, and compilations. He also received a number of prestigious awards for his musical work, including 20 Grammys and two Primetime Emmy Awards.
