A The Facts of Life reboot is in early stages of development.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson’s production company Appian Way is currently in talks with Jessica Biel’s Iron Ocean Films to helm the 80s sitcom reboot.

The Facts of Life, in itself a spinoff that ran for nine seasons on NBC (1979-88) making it one of the longest-running sitcoms of the decade. Created by Dick Clair and Jenna McMahon, it garnered considerable acclaim and was nominated for three Emmys during its run.

The series followed a group of girls at a boarding school who were looked after Mrs. Garrett (Charlotte Rae). The series delved deep into issues that teenage girls face such as drug use, sex, eating disorders and peer pressure. The cast also included Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, Cloris Leachman, Lisa Whelchel, Nancy McKeon and at various points Molly Ringwald, George Clooney and even Pamela Adlon.
