Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood won’t hit the theaters until next year, but it’s already the most anticipated movie in the world. Leonardo DiCaprio just added some fuel to the fire by sharing the first photo from the upcoming crime thriller.

Tarantino’s star-studded film will take place in 1969, around the same time when the Manson murders shook the world. DiCaprio is playing struggling TV actor Rick Dalton, who’s having a hard time making the transition to the big screen. Brad Pitt will portray his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth, who’s also trying to give his career a second life. The two fading stars just happen to be neighbors with Sharon Tate, the actress who was killed by Manson Family.

Pitt already played the lead in Tarantino’s re-imagining of WWII Inglourious Basterds. DiCaprio also worked with the famous director in 2012, when he starred as brutal slave owner Calvin Candie in Django Unchained. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood will be the first big screen union between the two actors. The director described them as “the most exciting star dynamic since Paul Newman and Robert Redford”. We’ll take his word for it and see for ourselves when the movie premiers on August 9, 2019.
