Netflix previously released stand-up specials by some of the leading comedians in the industry, including Dave Chappelle, John Mulaney, and Hannah Gadsby – and Leslie Jones is the next one in line!
Our favorite Saturday Night Live star recently teased her special in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, and she was as excited about it as we are.
“I am actually a standup comic. It’s great to be the actress and the sketch and all this stuff, but I’m actually a standup, hardcore. That’s what paid the bills,” Jones joked.
The special will be filmed in Washington, D.C. on September 10th, and it should start streaming on Netflix sometime in 2020. The famous comedian chose this city because she believes it has one of the best comic crowds in the entire country.
This stand-up special isn’t the only thing keeping Leslie Jones busy right now. The Ghostbusters actress is currently promoting her latest animated movie The Angry Birds Movie 2, and she’s set to appear in Coming 2 America, alongside Eddie Murphy.
