After months of anticipation, Lil Nas X finally dropped his debut album Montero, and he found the perfect way to mark its release. The Grammy-nominated artist celebrated this milestone by dropping the Brokeback Mountain-inspired music video for his latest single “That’s What I Want”.

The Stillz-directed video sees Lil Nas X falling in love with a fellow football player, but their love story doesn’t lead to a happy ending that he’s craving. After learning he got married and had a child, Lil Nas X decides to walk down the aisle on his own in a dramatic wedding gown.

Like many previous music videos for singles from Montero, this one has a cinematic feel and it pays obvious homage to the LGBT classic Brokeback Mountain. It also features an epic cameo from Billy Porter, who plays a priest during the climactic final scene in the church.

“That’s What I Want” serves as the fourth single from Lil Nas X’s debut album Montero, which hit the shelves on September 17th. In addition to previously released singles “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)”, “Sun Goes Down”, and “Industry Baby” ft. Jack Harlow, this record also features collaborations with Doja Cat, Elton John, Megan Thee Stallion, and Miley Cyrus.
