Lil Nas X’s much-anticipated debut album Montero has finally gotten a release date.

The rapper revealed the album would be released on September 17 in a social media post. In addition to the announcement, Nas released a trailer for the album, which had a previously-unheard song.

“Creating this album has been therapy for me,” Nas wrote in the announcement. “I’ve learned to let go of trying to control people’s perception of who I am, what I can do, and where I will be. I’ve realized the only opinion of me that really matters is my own.”

The trailer for the album picks up where Nasd and Jack Harlow’s “Industry Baby” music video left off, featuring a skit with Nas as an anchor on Montero News Network (MNN). As anchor, he speaks about a rapper known as Lil Nas X who’s escaped prison with his friend after being sentenced to five years and that anyone who comes in contact with the individual should contact authorities. We then see Nas driving through the desert in a convertible on his way to Montero. He stops at a phone booth and falls through darkness while a snippet of a song plays.
