2022 has given us many films exploring parallel universes, and Netflix is hopping on this trend—but in a more realistic, non-superhero way. The first trailer for Look Both Ways starring Lili is Reinhart here and it shows how one tiny decision can make a huge difference.
Look Both Ways sees Reinhart play Natalie, a young woman whose life takes a wild turn on the night of her college graduation and diverges into two different paths.
“In one life, she becomes pregnant and must navigate motherhood as a young adult in her hometown and in the other she moves to LA to pursue her career. In both journeys, Natalie experiences life-changing love, pursues her dream career as an artist, and rediscovers herself,” reads the film’s official logline.
Reinhart is best known for playing Betty Cooper on the hit teen drama Riverdale. Look Both Ways is her first leading role since Chemical Hearts in 2020, and her recent credits also include films Charlie’s Angels, Hustlers, and Galveston.
In addition to Reinhart, Look Both Ways stars Danny Ramirez, David Corenswet, Aisha Dee, Andrea Savage, Luke Wilson, and Nia Long. It was directed by Wanuri Kahiu, best known for her breakout film Rafiki, while the first-time writer April Prosser wrote the script. It’s set to premiere on Netflix on August 17.
