Rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer J Cole surprised fans yesterday when he released a new single in response to the ongoing protests around the country.

On the track, Cole addresses a range of topics from capitalism to social media, police, and celebrity culture. It’s the rapper’s first new music this year.

Cole released KOD, his fifth studio album, in 2018. Since then he’s been teasing the release of its follow-up, titled The Fall Off, which is expected to be released sometime in 2020.

It remains unknown whether “Snow On Tha Bluff” will be featured in J. Cole’s forthcoming sixth studio album.

In recent weeks, Cole announced his second annual Dreamville Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina has been canceled due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. It was originally scheduled for April 4 and later rescheduled for August 29. However, “after much deliberation and careful monitoring of the current situation, we have decided to cancel,” reads a statement posted mid-May.
