It’s been a while since Lizzo surprised us with some amazing solo music and she’s finally ready for a comeback. The Grammy-winning artist is working on her fourth studio album and she teased its release by dropping the lead single “About Damn Time”.
The music video for Lizzo’s latest single opens with the singer fleeing a support group and showing off her dance moves everywhere from a light-up hallway and an office building to a swimming pool. It’s her first single since the release of the Cardi B collaboration “Rumors” last summer.
“About Damn Time” is another feel-good anthem in Lizzo’s repertoire, and she’s using it to spread positivity, together with the rest of her upcoming album.
“I had a lot of fear, and I had to do the work on myself, and this music is some of that work in turning that fear into love. I hope that when people listen to this album, it makes their day just a little bit better, a little bit more filled with love,” Lizzo told Zane Lowe.
“About Damn Time” serves as the lead single on her upcoming album Special and it’s set to be released on July 15.
