Our hearts have been filled with joy ever since Lizzo topped Billboard Hot 100 with her empowering single “Truth Hurts”. Almost a month has passed since the first time she made it to no. 1 and she set a major milestone after four weeks on this spot.

Lizzo broke the record previously held by Cardi B and Lauryn Hill to become the female rapper with the longest-running solo single at no. 1. To be fair, “Truth Hurts” still remains the third-longest-running chart-topping hit by a female rapper. Lizzo is yet to surpass Iggy Azalea who spent seven weeks on no. 1 with her Charli XCX collaboration “Fancy”, and Cardi B who managed to do the same with Maroon 5 duet “Girls Like You”.

That’s not stopping Lizzo from celebrating her big moment that she’s been dreaming about since she fell in love with music as a little girl.

“If this lil Lizzo only knew all that she would accomplish when she picked up that flute, or wrote songs in her room, or forced her friends to make girlbands.. it’s just so humbling to know it was all worth it. Don’t run away from what your heart wants. Follow that b—h to your destiny,” wrote Lizzo on Instagram.
