Fans of John Green rejoice!

After 13 years in the making, Looking for Alaska adaptation is finally starting to feel a little bit more real. Hulu is making a TV version of the hit young adult novel and they just cast rising stars Kristine Froseth and Charlie Plummer in the lead roles.

Looking for Alaska follows Miles “Pudge” Halter who becomes infatuated with magnetic teen Alaska Young after enrolling to a new school. Miles is shattered after her sudden death and tries to make some sense of everything that happened with the help of his friends.

John Green announced castings news on Twitter and stated he’s excited to see this story come to life after 13 years in the making. He also asked fans to be kind to Froseth and Plummer, because they often have very strong casting opinions.

“A friendly reminder that I do not cast movies or limited series adaptations on Hulu. I did get to see both of these actors’ auditions, and they are both truly brilliant and embody the characters to me. They’re both also fans of the book, which is nice!” wrote Green.
