Lord of the Rings Series Gets Season 2 Renewal

With its first season in pre-production and with no full cast yet, Amazon has renewed its Lord of the Rings series for a second season. 

The prequel series has been given the go-ahead for season two. The series is set to film in New Zealand. 

Little is known of the plot. According to Variety, the series will explore new storylines preceding JRR Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring. Per the series’ official Twitter, “One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them, In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.”

Lord of the Rings series hails from writers JD Payne and Patrick McKay with JA Bayona set to direct multiple episodes.
