“Lucifer” Renewed for Fifth and Final Season

Tom Ellis in "Lucifer"

Netflix pleasantly surprised the fans of Lucifer after picking up this beloved show once Fox pulled the plug, but they’ve eventually decided to call it quits. The streaming giant recently announced they’ll be bringing Lucifer back for its fifth and final season.

The series premiered in 2015 and followed the adventures of the Lord of Hell Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), who decides to resign his throne and start a new life on Earth because he wanted to get a better understanding of humanity.

Executive producers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson expressed their gratitude to Netflix for allowing them to continue telling this story and finish it on their own terms.

“We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season, and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms. Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come!” reads the statement by Modrovich and Henderson.
