The trailer for Season 5 of Lucifer is out and it looks like things are messy after the devil’s return from Hell.

Netflix’s official logline for the series is: “The stakes are higher than ever. Secrets will be revealed, beloved characters will die, and we’ll finally get an answer to the question, ‘Will they or won’t they?’”

Tom Ellis will return to play Lucifer and it looks like Lauren German’s Chloe Decker has not been okay since he left. We’ll also meet Lucifer’s twin brother Michael, who appears to be stronger and less inhibited than Lucifer.

The series will return with the first half of Season 5 on August 21 and the full season will consist of 16 episodes. The second half of the season has not received a release date.

Back in June, Netflix renewed Lucifer for a “FINAL final” six season. Netflix picked up the show from Fox after it was canceled in May 2018 after three seasons after a #SaveLucifer campaign that happened on social media for over a month.
