We’ve recently got to see a couple of pretty great biopics about our favorite musicians, and Marianne Faithfull is the next one in line. A movie based on her life is in the works, and Lucy Boynton has been officially cast in the lead role.

This exciting biopic will follow Faithfull’s journey from the very start of her career in the ‘60s.

Boynton couldn’t be more excited to tell her story. “I fell in love with this project the second I read it so I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of telling Marianne’s story both as an actor and, for the first time, as an executive producer, especially alongside this creative team. I can’t wait to really get started,” she said in a statement.

Ian Bonhôte, who received two BAFTA nominations for his documentary McQueen, will be in charge of directing the movie. He described Marianne Faithfull as “an extraordinary woman who rebelled against the male-dominated music industry”, and said he’s honored to shine a light on her timeless story.
