Machine Gun Kelly gave us his first chart-topping album with Tickets to My Downfall, and its follow-up is just around the corner. Born with Horns is set to be released by the end of the year, and the singer is promising a “guitar-heavy” record with darker lyrics.

Machine Gun Kelly discussed his upcoming LP during a recent appearance on Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist, and revealed it will be much heavier than his previous studio effort.

“It feels more guitar-heavy for sure, lyrically it definitely goes deeper – but I never like to do anything the same. Every album is a juxtaposition of the last album. So I went and studied Tickets, and I heard the bright sound that I had, and for this album, I just turned the lights off,” he explained.

Machine Gun Kelly also hinted at a New Year’s Day release date by saying, “the second you open your eyes and it’s 2022, you’ll have something to listen to.” Just like Tickets to My Downfall, his next album will see him joining forces with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, who’ll be in charge of producing Born with Horns.
