Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, real name Colson Baker, is venturing into film directing. He will have his directorial debut with the movie Good Mourning With A U, which is already being filmed in Los Angeles.

Kelly co-wrote the feature with singer/songwriter Mod Sun, with whom he will also share directorial credits.

“We’re just happy to be bringing our vision to life. We’re humbled by the trust we have from our cast members and crew,” shared Kelly and Sun in a joint statement.

The pair will be part of the movie’s cast as well, joining Kelly’s girlfriend and Jennifer’s Body star Megan Fox, standup comedian Whitney Cummings, Dove Cameron of Liv and Maddie, and singer-turned-actress Becky G. The project will also reportedly have “a special appearance” by Saturday Night Live alum Pete Davidson.

Machine Gun Kelly has a number of acting gigs on his resume, having starred as Tommy Lee in Mötley Crüe biopic The Dirt, Showtime’s comedy-drama Roadies, and 2021’s Midnight in the Switchgrass. He is also set to play the lead role in the upcoming thriller One Way alongside Kevin Bacon and Travis Fimmel.

Good Mourning With A U will be Sun’s first acting experience.
