Madonna’s Celebration Tour was temporarily halted after a singer experienced a major health scare this summer, but she’s ready to get back on the road. The Queen of Pop officially reschedule the North American leg of her tour, set to kick off this winter.

The Celebration Tour was originally expected to kick off with a concert in Vancouver last month, but Madonna was forced to take a break from performing after experiencing a “serious bacterial infection” earlier this summer. She spent several days in ICU and started plotting her return after completing full recovery.

Madonna later released a statement thanking fans for their positive energy during this difficult time and said she’ll be back on the road once she’s strong enough to perform.

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show,” she wrote on Instagram.

The European leg of the Celebration Tour will kick off in October as planned, and Madonna is now expected to open the North American leg with three concerts at the Barclays Center in New York this December.
