Star of This Is Us, Mandy Moore, and co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger have teamed up on a new project inspired by Moore’s musical childhood.
Multiple outlets report that ABC has put pilot commitment for the drama currently titled 90’s Popstar.
The series is penned by Amanda Lasher with Moore set to executive produce alongside Aptaker and Berger alongside Adam Londy and Regina Lee. Marc Webb also will executive produce and direct.
The drama revolves around a family from a small town in Florida who must adapt to their extraordinary new reality when their teenage daughter goes from aspiring singer to pop superstar practically overnight.
