Margot Robbie’s “Tank Girl” Reboot Finds a Director

Once again a cult classic movie is being rebooted, and this time its Tank Girl. The collider reports that the reboot will be produced by Margot Robbie via her LuckyChap Entertainment banner and she may also star in it.

The actress also found a director for her project – Miles Joris-Peyrafitte, with whom she has worked on Dreamland. The project is in its early stages of development and there is still no script for the movie. Robbie will not commit to starring in it until she’ll see the script. The movie may also include other characters such as Jet Girl.

Tank Girl began as a comic in 1988. It follows a girl with a nearly shaven head who operates a tank in a post-apocalyptic world. In 1995 it was adapted to the cinema by director Rachel Talalay and starred Lori Petty. It is considered a breakthrough for women directors in the action genre.

Robbie is well known for playing Harley Quinn – a character who’s visually different but not so different attitude-wise. It will be interesting to see her stepping into the tank.
