Mark Wahlberg will star in the feature adaptation of Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home.

Titled Arthur the King, the true-life canine adventure story is based on the 2017 account by Mikael Lindnord. Adapting the story for the big screen is 3:10 to Yuma and Wanted scribe, Michael Brandt.

The story follows Lindnord, the captain of a Swedish adventure racing team, who meets a wounded stray dog during a 400-mile race through the Ecuadoran jungles. The dog that is led to follow the team through some of the toughest terrains on the planet is later adopted by the captain and is brought back to Sweden.

Wahlberg is set to portray Lindnor. He will also executive produce with Dorothy Canton, Brandt and Lindnord. Mark Canton, Tucker Tooley, Courtney Solomon, and Tessa Tooley will produce the project for Paramount Player.

No director has been attached to the project yet.
