We’ve seen Mark Wahlberg lead several pretty unconventional family movies, and his latest might be the wildest one yet. The first trailer for Apple TV’s The Family Plan is here, and it stars Wahlberg as a former elite assassin trying to protect his family from his dark past.
According to Apple’s official synopsis, The Family Plan centers on Dan Morgan, who loves his quiet suburban life as a devoted husband, father of three, and successful car salesman… but that’s only half the story.
Before becoming a devoted family man, Dan was an elite assassin tasked with eliminating the world’s deadliest threats. Once his past comes back to haunt him, he must pack his unsuspecting wife, angsty teen daughter, pro-gamer teen son, and adorable baby into a family minivan and embark on an impromptu cross-country road trip to Las Vegas in an attempt to protect them.
In addition to Wahlberg, this action comedy also stars Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Saïd Taghmaoui, Maggie Q, and Ciarán Hinds. Wahlberg also serves as one of the producers alongside Stephen Levinson through their Municipal Pictures banner. Simon Cellan Jones directed the film, while David Coggeshall wrote the script.
The Family Plan will arrive at Apple TV+ just in time for the holidays, on December 15.
