For years now, the fans of Fox’ sitcom Married… with Children were excited about the possible revival of the show. The majority of the cast was set to return, with the new episodes being focused on Bud Bundy, the youngest and the most intelligent member of the family. Since the initial reports, things got a bit cold, with some legal issues being brought up as a stumbling block.

Katey Sagal, who portrayed Peggy Bundy in the show, recently spoke with the LA Times and was asked if she was open to Married… with Children revival. While saying that she was definitely open to it, Sagal also said that it probably won’t happen.

“I thought it would be really fun to do it like on Netflix where we could swear. Every year it kind of comes up” said Sagal to LA Times. “Ed can’t do anything because of “Modern Family,” I probably can’t do anything because of [“Superior Donuts”] and so it just never seems like the right time, but I would be definitely be open to it. We’ll see. True to Bundy form, it probably won’t happen.”

Married… with Children aired on Fox from 1987 to 1997, becoming the network’s longest-lasting live-action sitcom and the first to be broadcasted in the Fox’ primetime slot. The show focused on a former high school quarterback and now shoe salesman Al Bundy and his dysfunctional family. Fox aired 259 episodes through 11 seasons of the show.

The revival would have Bud being a man with an ungrateful wife and children, while the other members of the family would not be present as much.
