The release date of Killers of the Flower Moon is just a month away, and expectations are running high. Apple added some more fuel to the fire by dropping a brand-new trailer for Martin Scorsese’s upcoming western drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone.
Killers of the Flower Moon is based on David Grann’s book of the same name, and it centers on a series of murders in the Osage Nation at the turn of the 20th century. This Native American community found immense wealth after oil was discovered on their tribal land – but this discovery also put them in grave danger, leading to a series of mysterious murders.
The official logline describes Killers of the Flower Moon as “an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal”, told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Gladstone).
The ensemble cast of this star-studded film also includes Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, and Jillian Dion.
Killers of the Flower Moon was met with rave reviews following its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. It will head to the theaters on October 20, before being released on Apple TV+ at a later date.
