Slowly but surely, Marvel is moving off our television screens…

Earlier this year, Netflix canceled its share of Marvel series, including Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and Jessica Jones.

Now, one of the few remaining series is also set to bite the dust. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will end after its upcoming seventh season.

The series focuses on the peacekeeping spy agency in the world of superheroes and stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Nick Blood, Adrianne Palicki, Henry Simmons, Luke Mitchell, John Hannah, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, and Jeff Ward.

“When you know that’s what you’re doing, you can take greater risks, of life and death,” Marvel TV boss, Jeph Loeb, told Hall H at Comic-Con. “Those kinds of decisions suddenly now are real on the table because you’re not playing how do we undo this when we get to the next season. You’re playing that this is going to be the end of the story.”

Season 6 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is currently wrapping up, with the seventh and final season expected next year.
