Fellow Travelers is one of the most exciting new shows coming to Showtime this month, and the first full trailer is finally here! Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey star as two very different men, whose romance is doomed to fail after they fall in love during one of the most turbulent times in modern American history.
The official synopsis describes Fellow Travelers as “a decades-long chronicle of the risky, volatile and steamy relationship between the charismatic and ambitious Hawk and the pious and idealistic Tim, two political staffers who fall in love at the height of the 1950s Lavender Scare.”
Bomer plays charismatic Hawkins Fuller, who has a financially rewarding, behind-the-scenes career in politics, while Bailey takes on the role of Tim Laughlin, a young man brimming with idealism and religious faith. The series chronicles their relationship over the course of four decades, spanning from the Vietnam War protests to the AIDS crises of the 1980s.
In addition to Bomer and Bailey, Fellow Travelers also stars Allison Williams, Jelani Alladin, Noah J. Ricketts, Linus Roache, Will Brill, and Chris Bauer. The series will feature a total of seven episodes, airing weekly on Showtime, starting with the premiere on October 27.
