The collaboration between Matt Damon and Ben Affleck is a gift that keeps on giving, and they’re working on another movie by each other side. Affleck will direct Damon in his upcoming movie Animals, which they’ll also produce through their company Artists Equity.

Netflix is keeping plot details under wraps for now, but we know this project will revolve around a complex kidnapping plot. Affleck is coming on board as a director, while Connor McIntyre wrote the script with revisions by Billy Ray.

Affleck and Damon have been friends since their childhood years, and they gained recognition after winning an Oscar for best original screenplay for Good Will Hunting. They’ve collaborated on multiple occasions in the years to come, and founded their own independent film company, Artists Equity, in 2022.

Despite working together for years, last year’s Air was Damon’s first film directed by Affleck – and he loved every second of it.

“Because we have known each other for so long, I’m very used to creative problem-solving with him. If one of us comes up with a terrible idea, we will say it. Your feelings aren’t hurt. There’s always respect, and we move on to the next idea,” Damon told Vanity Fair.
