If you needed another proof of Megan Thee Stallion’s absolute domination over the music industry, just take a look at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards winners. The hip-hop newcomer came out victorious in several categories and she was definitely the biggest winner of the night.
Stallion managed to beat the likes of DaBaby, Drake, and Future to win the shiniest trophy of the night—artist of the year. She was also crowned as the hustler of the year, and won the best collaboration award alongside Beyoncé with the chart-topping remix of “Savage”.
Future and Drake shared the award for best hip hop video with “Life is Good”, but failed to come out victorious in the song of the year category where they lost out to Roddy Ricch’s “The Box”. He also picked up the best hip hop album award for Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial.
The list of major winners also includes the late rapper Pop Smoke, who was named as best new hip hop artist, and Lil Baby who won the impact track award with “The Bigger Picture”.
This year’s BET Hip Hop Awards took place on October 27th, and 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, and City Girls were amongst notable performers.
