Meghan Markle became a mother last week — just in time for Mother’s Day.

Although the UK (where Meghan now lives with her family of three) celebrated Mother’s Day in March, the Duchess of Sussex is, of course, an American, so she is within her right to celebrate her first Mother’s Day on the 12th of May!

Kensington Palace sent out wishes to moms around the world via Meghan and Prince Harry’s Instagram page, @sussexroyal.

The wishes were accompanied by an adorable picture of the newest member of the family, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

“Paying tribute to all mothers today — past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honour and celebrate each and every one of you,” said the caption for the picture of the newborn’s feet held by his mom. “Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex.”

Happy Mother’s Day, Meghan!
