Meghan Markle is officially one step closer to becoming a Royal.

Before the former Suits actress can walk down the aisle to meet her prince, Royal law states that she must first be baptized into the Church of England (which, being an American Protestant, she was certainly not a member of).

According to The Daily Mail, the 45-minute ceremony took place on Tuesday evening under the auspices of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who followed the baptism with a confirmation.

Meghan was joined at the service by her husband-to-be, Prince Harry, as well as her future in-laws, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla who is the Duchess of Cornwall.

Sadly, Meghan’s own parents could not make the ceremony, nor could Harry’s brother, Prince William, and his wife Kate (although, at 8 months pregnant we’ll give her the benefit of the doubt!)

Once Meghan’s induction was complete, E! Online claims that she and her beau were hosted by Charles and Camilla at a dinner in their Clarence House home along with 14 other guests.

Meghan is set to say, “I do,” to her Prince on the 19th of May.
