Even though it seems the actors’ strike is reaching its final stage, it’s not over just yet, and another film just received SAG-AFTRA’s interim agreement. The upcoming indie action thriller Red Dirt rounded out its cast, which will be led by Melissa Fumero & Aaron Dominguez.

In addition to Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building) and Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), this film will also star Alejandro Edda (Narcos: Mexico), Sebastian Chacon (Daisy Jones & The Six), and Carlos Pratts (Fatal Attraction).

Red Dirt has been described as a family-driven revenge tale about the brothers Miguel and Dom, played by Dominguez and Edda. They are thrust back together years after losing their family and starting new lives after being cared for by a white couple in New Mexico, where Miguel became a cop, while Dom was forced back to the life of crime.

It will be directed by Crash Buist, who said he’s “humbled and inspired by the level of talent and innovation in the New Mexico film community”, adding there is no richer backdrop for the world of Red Dirt. He co-wrote the script with Jonathan Medina and Lauren Senechal.

Buist is producing the film alongside his fellow co-writer Senechal through their Sthenic Studios banner, and they’ve been handed an interim agreement to film it in New Mexico.
