“What Men Want” Gets New Release Date

Taraji P. Henson in "What Men Want"

The Taraji P. Henson rom-com moves to a pre-Valentine’s weekend.

The release date of What Men Want has been pushed back from mid-January to February 8. This is reportedly a strategic move made by Paramount to capitalize on the pre-Valentine’s Day box office.

What Men Want is a gender-switching remake of the 2000 comedy What Women Want starring Mel Gibson. Henson will star in the Gibson role as Ali Davis a successful sports agent who’s passed up for a well-deserved promotion. As she questions what she needs to do to succeed in a man’s world she gains the ability to hear men’s thoughts. With her newfound power, Ali looks to outsmart her colleagues as she races to sign the next superstar.

The feature is directed by Adam Shankman. Also starring are Richard Roundtree, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Tracy Morgan, Josh Brener, Tamala Jones, Phoebe Robinson, Max Greenfield, Jason Jones, Brian Bosworth, Chris Witaske and Erykah Badu.

What Men Want hits theaters Feb. 8.
