Mahershala Ali is gearing up to play the titular hero in Marvel Studios’ Blade, and he’ll be in pretty good company. Mia Goth will make her MCU debut in this project in an undisclosed role.

This won’t mark Blade’s first appearance on the big screen – the iconic vampire hunter was famously portrayed by Wesley Snipes in three films by New Line Cinema. Marvel is completely rebranding the character in the new film, with Yann Demange directing and Michael Starrbury writing the script.

There’s still a lot of mystery surrounding Marvel’s new take on Blade, and plot details are being kept under wraps. Ali previously made an uncredited voice cameo as Blade in Eternals, but we still haven’t seen his character on the big screen.

Blade will premiere on September 6, 2024, as the final film of the MCU’s Phase Five. This will give Marvel a lot of wiggle room to potentially tease his appearance in one of the post-credit scenes in other Phase Five films, including Captain America: New World Order and Thunderbolts.

Blade isn’t the only exciting project that Goth has on the way. She’s set to reprise the role of Maxine Minx, in the upcoming third installment in the X slasher trilogy, titled MaXXXine.
