Michael Douglas will soon celebrate 50 years in showbiz, and he marked the occasion in a very special way. The veteran actor joined Hollywood royalty by finally receiving a star on the Walk of Fame.
Actor’s dad Kirk Douglas was one of the people attending the ceremony, and he grew pretty emotional while addressing him. He also gave shout-outs to wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and son Cameron, but his tribute to the 101-year-old acting legend proved to be the most touching part.
“It means so much to me that you’re here today. Thank you for your advice, inspiration, and I’ll say it simply and with all my heart: I’m so proud to be your son,” said Michael Douglas.
One of the people in attendance was actor’s friend and colleague Jane Fonda, who met him on the set of The China Syndrome. She paid him a tribute during the ceremony and said it’s surprising it took him so long to get the star since he was always ahead of his time.
