Michael Fassbender, Jamie Foxx and Peter Dinklage are in negotiations to join the Wild Bunch remake.

Mel Gibson is set to direct from his own script, co-written with Bryan Bagby. He will also executive produce the movie. Jerry Bruckheimer is attached to produce.

The remake of the 1969 Sam Peckinpah Western will retell the story of aging outlaws trying to live out the final days of the Wild West. The original starred William Holden and Ernest Borgnine and was nominated for Oscars for original screenplay and score.

The remake will be the first time Gibson steps behind the camera since Hacksaw Ridge in 2016, which won two Oscars and received four other nominations including Best Picture and Best Director.
